kitchen faucet hard water

You may buy the best faucets but keeping them shiny in some environments may be difficult. Especially in places where the water supply is hard.
Hard water is one enemy that keeps your chrome faucets from being shiny all the time as it leaves water spots and causes caulking.
Kitchen faucets with Chrome, Copper, Stainless steel and Bronze finishes can be maintained shiny in the following ways
Dish washing soap
We have to regularly clean the faucet with dish washing soap and water using a soft cloth. Rinse with water and clean it dry with a dry soft cloth.
The use of scouring pad or any other abrasive item is not advisable as they can scratch the finish.
However, a tooth brush could be used to clean the hard-to-reach places.

Lemon Power

The faucet is gently rubbed on with the rind of lemon and then wrapped with a cloth/paper towel soaked in white vinegar and let the power of lemon-vinegar do its work.
After about an hour remove the cloth/paper towel and wash clean the faucet and dry with a soft cloth and see the shine restored and water spots gone.

Only Vinegar

I came across this video which shows how to clean the faucet with only white vinegar.
It sure works wonders in removing the hard water stains that have built up over years

    1. Thanks for the very useful tip of using lemon and vinegar to clean hard water stains off of faucets. My kitchen faucet has a bronze finish and I’ve been concerned about using anything harsh to clean it up. I’ve noticed that the finish is starting to dull and I’m anxious to restore the shine. I’m going to give this a try right away. I appreciate the info!
